One-Punch Man shows off Saitama’s craziest strategy yet
One-punch man finally reached the intense climax of the fight between Saitama and Garou with its final chapters, but the series’ final chapter went even further with one of Saitama’s craziest strategies in the series to date. The Human Monster saga has been the series’ longest history as it has steadily stacked the pieces for a final showdown between Saitama and Garou. When it previously seemed like their fight was going to reach some sort of end, after a surprising turnaround, the series’ latest chapter kicked things into a whole new kind of god gear.
The latest chapter in the series has brought things into a huge new gear between Saitama and Garou as after Genos’ apparent death, Saitama has now gone all out against an opponent who can truly handle his strength for the first time in quite a while. Because he’s no longer holding back, fans can see how Saitama fights in this kind of new divine realm. In fact, it leads to some of his craziest ideas in the series to date, as he literally tears apart one of Jupiter’s moons in order to keep catching Garou off guard.
Chapter 165 of the official Viz Media English version of One-punch man picks up after Saitama and Garou’s Serious Punches collide with a nuclear-level explosion. Blast was able to teleport them to the far reaches of Jupiter so they wouldn’t destroy Earth, and Saitama realizes he can really take on this new fighter. But as he burns with rage, he easily rips apart each of Garou’s space-time teleportation tricks (which he copied from Blast) and seeing that Saitama has his own idea to trap Garou in space.
He grabs a piece of the moon they’re on and flips it completely out of the ground (calling it the “Serious Table Flip”) and follows it using Garou’s opening portals to jump through them himself. and hit Garou from different angles. . Dodging and weaving around all the rubble of the moon, it keeps hitting Garou in so many directions that the combatant can’t find their way around. Saitama essentially goes where Garou can’t tell his top from his bottom as he steps up his assault.
As the chapter draws to a close, it is teased that Garou will somehow attempt to copy Saitama’s strength even more and it remains to be seen whether or not that works.
